Mystic Garden Completed

I've actually managed to finish the HAED 2013 Bulletin Board SAL before the end of the year and I'm thrilled!  It's actually turned out pretty well and I'm really happy with it!

Since completing it if been in a "post finish slump" and haven't wanted to do any stitching at all, however the bug is slowly creeping back.  I've managed to finish the second part of the Lizzie*Kate Mystery SAL, although I've not taken a photo.  I'm now making a slow start on the last part and hopefully it should be done before the end of the year.  I've also stitched a little bit of the birth sampler that I started for my Cousin's baby, who was born last December, bit not enough to see any real change as yet!  I will take a photo once I've got something to show.

Hope you are all enjoying getting ready for the festive period.  I've had to be prepared early as I've got a few parcels to be sent overseas.  They aren't all wrapped yet, but I've got all the gifts made and bought, so they should be ready to go out early next week.  I then have to start shopping and crafting for the friends and family nearby!

WIPocalypse - July 2013

It's a couple of days late but here I am with my WIPocalypse update.  I don't know where July went as it only seems like I was doing June's update a few days ago!

I've been working on QS Clara and haven't done much more since I posted my IHSW update so I haven't bothered updating it!  I won't repost it as it's in my last post (and on my WIP page) for those whose want to see!

I do have a new start to show you, it's the one I planned to start earlier in the year and never got around to it.  This is The 3 Fates - Jasmine Becket-Griffith (HAED):

Not much to see as yet as it's just a bit of background but it'll take shape soon!

Next up, Pyramid 4 - Ciro Marchetti:

June
July

The scarab is complete now and I'm making some progress on the Pharaoh now.  This is fun to work on, the fact it's a pyramid just makes it more fun!

Last up is the HAED Bulletin Board SAL piece, QS Mystic Garden:

July

There's been a bit more progress on the tiger and on the fountain as well, slowly taking shape.  I may be a bit behind but I'm pleased with how it's going so far and I'm enjoying stitching it, which is the important thing!

Considering how hot it's been over the last couple of weeks in the UK, I'm really pleased with my progress, we're just not used to it!

Happy New Year!

I know we are almost halfway through January but....HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm running a little behind with everything at present, for some reason it always takes me a lot longer to get in gear after Christmas and get back to my normal routine.  It doesn't help that OH keeps working from home and disrupting my routine too!

Well.....I said this year I would be forgoing all the SAL's and just doing my own thing without any pressure and just enjoying myself.....and I've already gone back on that.  I knew that I was joining in the HAED 2013 SAL and I've already blogged about that, but nothing else but a couple of friends of mine are doing a Lizzie*Kate SAL using the cat/dog lessons for people charts.  I was very kindly given this chart by a friend and have wanted to stitch it for a long while so I've decided to join too.

I've got some lovely 32ct Raw Floba (bit like linen) to stitch it on and I ordered the speciality threads.  I'm really excited!  It's only a 4 hours commitment each week so it shouldn't have an impact on what else I choose to stitch.

I have a very small update on my HAED SAL piece to share:

It's stitched on 18ct Pewter Aida and should turn out at just under 8"x8" when finished, which I thought was a nice size for framing.  It's very confetti heavy, but that should mean lots of great detail too.

I'll try and get through everyone's blogs, but I might not get chance to leave comments as there are a lot to catch up with, I will try though!
